Asphalt spreader refers to a tank-type special operation vehicle equipped with thermal insulation container, asphalt pump, heater and spraying system for spraying asphalt; it can also be defined as a kind of liquid asphalt spraying hot asphalt, emulsified asphalt, residual oil, etc. It can be widely used in road construction, urban roads, airports, port terminals and reservoirs; large-capacity asphalt distributors can also be used as asphalt carriers, mainly used for asphalt penetration method surface treatment, penetration , sticky layer, in-situ mixing of mixtures, asphalt stabilized soil and other construction and maintenance projects.

 

Asphalt spreader is a kind of black road construction machinery, which is the main equipment for the construction of highways, urban roads, airports and port terminals. When using the asphalt penetration method and asphalt layer surface treatment method to build asphalt pavement or maintain asphalt or residual oil pavement, the asphalt distributor can be used to transport and distribute liquid asphalt (including hot asphalt, emulsified asphalt and residual oil). In addition, it can also supply asphalt binder to the loose and crushed soil in situ for the construction of asphalt stabilized soil pavement or pavement base. When building the permeable layer, waterproof layer and bonding layer of the bottom layer of high-grade highway asphalt pavement, high-viscosity modified asphalt, heavy traffic asphalt, modified emulsified asphalt, emulsified asphalt, etc. can be sprinkled. It can also be used for asphalt covering and spraying in highway maintenance, and for the construction of county and township-level highway oil roads for implementing layered paving technology.



    Asphalt distributor Structure

     

    (1) Asphalt tank

     

    It consists of liner, thermal insulation material, shell, partition, combustion chamber, asphalt pipeline in the tank, heat transfer oil pipeline, gas storage tank, fuel filler, capacity meter, decorative plate, etc. The tank body is an elliptical cylinder, the inner and outer layers are welded by steel plates, and the aluminum silicate insulation material is filled between the two layers, with a thickness of 50~100mm, and is covered with stainless steel plate. There is a sinking groove at the bottom, which is convenient for the asphalt in the tank to be exhausted. There are 5 mounting feet at the bottom of the tank body, which are welded together with the sub-beam, and then fixed on the frame. The outer layer of the combustion chamber is a heat-conducting oil heating chamber, and a row of heat-conducting oil heating pipes is installed at the bottom. Volume meters are used to indicate the level of asphalt in the tank.

     

    (2) Power transmission system

     

    It consists of power take-off, pump transmission, hydraulic system, etc. Generally, the hydraulic pump is driven by the output power of the power take-off installed on the output port of the chassis engine or transmission to provide the necessary power for the asphalt spreading device. The hydraulic system consists of hydraulic pump, relief valve, reversing valve, hydraulic motor, hydraulic pipeline. etc. composition.

     

    (3) Asphalt pump and piping system

     

    It consists of asphalt pump, filter, valve, spray pipeline, cylinder nozzle assembly, etc. The flow direction of liquid asphalt in the pipeline is controlled by different combinations of valves. The main functions are as follows: self-priming asphalt filling, rear pipe spraying, portable nozzle spraying, circulation, back suction, cleaning, etc.

     

    (4) Asphalt heating and heat transfer oil system

     

    It consists of a combustion heating system and a heat transfer oil circulating heating system.

     

    (5) Asphalt pipeline cleaning system

     

    There are 2 parts of diesel cleaning and high pressure air flushing. The diesel cleaning part is composed of diesel tank, oil inlet copper ball valve and pipeline, and the high-pressure air flushing part is composed of air storage cylinder, one-way valve, air valve, etc.

     

    (6) Electrical and control system

     

    The electrical control system is divided into two parts: DC circuit and AC circuit. The DC circuit is composed of power take-off, reducer, cooler, hydraulic reversing valve, rear nozzle lift, rear work light control circuit and automatic control system circuit; the AC circuit is composed of generator, burner, heat conduction oil motor circuit.


    Design

     

    Asphalt distributors belong to both road construction machinery (asphalt distributors) and special purpose vehicles (asphalt distributors), so manufacturers must obtain special vehicle production qualifications. Its design, in addition to meeting the general standards for automobiles such as GB 1589-2004 and GB 7258-2012, should also meet its special standard JT/T 276-2004 "Asphalt Distributor/Machine".

     

    The design purpose of the asphalt distributor is to spread the liquid asphalt evenly on the road surface according to the pre-determined distribution amount. In the design, the main parameters are first determined, including the capacity of the asphalt tank, the maximum spreading width, the maximum and minimum spreading amount, the static thermal insulation performance of the asphalt tank, etc., and then the structure and specifications of each top-mounted component are determined.

     

    (1) Asphalt tank capacity: It should be comprehensively considered according to the purpose of the asphalt distributor and the maximum load quality of the chassis.

     

    (2) Static thermal insulation performance of asphalt tank: When the hot asphalt (amount>80%) in the tank is at an external temperature of 12~15℃, the temperature drop for 8h is ≤20℃. The heating system on the tank, whether it is fire tube, heat transfer oil or electric heating, must have automatic control function. When the amount of asphalt in the tank reaches 80%, the temperature rise is ≥10℃/h in a small cycle state, and the heating is automatically cut off when the temperature reaches the set temperature. In the design, attention should also be paid to the control of the heating temperature to prevent the rapid aging of the local asphalt.

     

    (3) Asphalt pump flow (Q): It is determined by the spreading width, spreading quantity and spreading speed, namely: Q=qvl/1000, m³/s. In the formula: q, the maximum amount of spraying (norm), L/m²; v, the traveling speed during spraying, m/s; l, the width of spraying, m.

     

    (4) Spreading amount: The construction operation requires more and more asphalt spraying amount range, and the minimum and maximum spraying amount has a great influence on the selection of asphalt pump, which should comprehensively consider the working conditions of the asphalt spraying truck.
